3rd Annual Ride for Autism Raises $1,800
The GateKeepers Chapter has held an autism ride that begins in Beech Grove, IN the past three years. It started because there were no benefit rides around Indy to help those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Richard Blake and a few other members of the chapter either have children with autism or close friends that have children with autism.
“We chose to benefit the Cornerstone Autism Foundation 2 reasons,” said Richard Blake. “First, we did not want any money raised to get lost in a national organizations with millions of dollars of donations. And second, we wanted it to benefit some place local that is hands on with those needing the help.”
This year, they have raised over $1,750 from the benefit ride. They are still in the process of raising money by selling Autism Ribbon Lapel Pins. If you would like to learn more about how to buy a lapel pin, you can reach out to the chapter on their facebook page at this link.
